Servers - Obsessed Series

People who are obsessed with Jesus do not consider service a burden. Obsessed people take joy in loving God by loving his people.
Francis Chan

"By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples."
john fifteen: eight

"The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field"

Friends of All - Obession Series

"Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many."
1st timothy six: six - thirteen

People who are obsessed with Jesus live their lives that connect them with the poor in some way or another. Obsessed people believe that Jesus talked about money and the poor so often because it was really important to him.

Great is the Lord

"Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.
One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.
On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness.
They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness."

psalm one hundred forty five: four-seven.

PBC Missions

Here are some prayer requests for Prestonwood's Missions currently going on:

Prison Outreach: On the weekend of Nov. 12–14, Prestonwood members will be sharing the Gospel with inmates in multiple prisons throughout DFW. Pray that the inmates would be open to the Gospel and that our people would share with boldness, humility and genuineness.

Prison Outreach: Prestonwood members are ministering to inmates and officers from eight different prisons and jails every month. Pray for continued favor with the officers and inmates in these prisons as we share the Gospel and disciple believers. Pray that God would strengthen and develop the ongoing ministries in each of these places with people, resources and prayer.

Prison Outreach: Each year, approximately 700,000 inmates reenter society. Of those, 70 percent will go back to prison or jail. However, many of those have come to know Christ while in prison. Pray that these would surround themselves with a community of believers to encourage and challenge them. Pray for God’s provision in the area of work, finances and housing.

Serve the City: Continue to pray for all those who will be ministered to during this weekend. Pray for those who are searching for a job, for single mothers who are struggling, and for widows and widowers who need help. Pray that God would call out the people of our church to help meet these needs.

Sudan Update: God worked in amazing ways on our recent trip to Kajo Keji, Sudan. Our Sudan mission team saw three churches started and three more established churches strengthened. Praise God for the 140 people who trusted in Christ for their salvation and followed Him in baptism. Please pray for the e3 Bible students who will be shepherding the churches.

Romania Update: Continue to pray for Troy Geddes, the IMB missionary with whom we serve in Romania, as he begins to disciple new believers in Braila, Romania. Pray also for the health of Troy's wife, Karla, as she we recently diagnosed with Lyme disease.
